Engauge Workforce Solutions Partners With the Down Syndrome Association (DSAW) to Launch Think Ability Wisconsin (TAW)
Think Ability Wisconsin (TAW) is focused on helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PWIDD) find jobs in the manufacturing and hospitality sectors.
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., July 7, 2022 (Newswire.com) - Engauge Workforce Solutions is pleased to announce that its partners at the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin (DSAW) were awarded a Workforce Innovation Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. The Workforce Innovation Grant program is part of the American Plan Rescue Act (ARPA) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Click here to see the press release from DSAW.
With this grant, DSAW will launch Think Ability Wisconsin (TAW), which will focus on workforce issues for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PWIDD). The program will provide education and training to PWIDD and their families for careers in manufacturing and hospitality. Engauge is a proud partner of this project and will work with DSAW to customize and fully integrate its entry and higher-level Associate training courses for PWIDD. Areas in training to be covered include:
- Introduction to Manufacturing
- Soft Skills for Entry-Level Industrial Employees
- Forklift, Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Control
- Introduction to Robotic Programming
- Blueprint and Schematic Reading
- Introduction to Quality Inspection and Precision Gauging
- Hand Tool and Power Tool Basics
