English Woodlands Announce Advice Series on When to Begin Winter Planting

English Woodlands, an East Sussex based supplier of trees, plants and planting accessories, have announced an advice on when to begin winter planting.

Winter can be a hostile time for gardeners. Trees are dormant, making it the absolute best period to transfer them from one environment to another for planting. Unfortunately, there's a natural risk of freezing, particularly during extreme fluctuating weather like we've currently been experiencing.

Considering this, English Woodlands have announced an advice series on when to begin winter planting. They outline how to observe whether the ground has thawed, as well as how to store rootballed, bagged and bare rooted plants. The advice series specifies how to heel in bare root plants for more than a week's storage, how to lie rootballed and containerised plants, and what temperatures and insulation they need in order to survive before planting, all of which is available on their blog.

A customer service representative from the company was able to take the time to comment on their new advice, and the focus on keeping customers informed. "We just want to see people getting the most out of the investments they make with us. Buying a tree, for instance, means buying the chance to cultivate and grow it over a period of years. It's a slow process, so there's plenty of time to learn as you go, making a bad decision early on that results in damage to the plant can be disheartening, so we try our best to keep customers informed."

Operating out of East Sussex, English Woodlands are a supplier of trees, plants, shrubs and planting accessories, and have been distributing their products and expertise to customers across the entirety of the United Kingdom since 1919. By keeping customers informed on how to get the best use and results from their investments they hope to help consumers remain satisfied and reach their gardening goals.
