ENR Announces 2016 Top 400 Contractors

KBE Building Corp. jumped 54 ahead of competition

KBE Building Corporation, a $300 million construction firm regionally positioned in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, earned spot #247 on Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) 2016 Top 400 Contractors list, improving 54 spots compared to its 2015 ranking.

Published annually, ENR’s Top 400 Contractors list provides structure to the construction industry by ranking publicly held and privately held contractors based on construction contracting-specific revenue.

KBE’s improved ranking this year reflects our continued dedication to our core values and valued clients,” said KBE owner and CEO Mike Kolakowski, who bought the firm in 2007 with long-time senior executives Eric Brown and Simon Etzel.

KBE’s ENR recognition is just one of the firm’s 2016 honors; in April, KBE won the most prestigious safety award in Connecticut, the Best of the Best Safety Award for a General Contractor, courtesy of Associated Builders and Contractors – Connecticut Chapter. KBE also received the Award of Merit from The Connecticut Building Congress, Outstanding Historic Renovation Project from the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the American Library Association (ALA), and the Merit Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors – Baltimore Chapter so far this year.
