Entrepreneur Byron Booker Seeks To Bring Curation To The Forefront of Streaming Media

Music & Tech Entrepreneur Byron Booker has taken his streaming media experience to the next level with the launching of a new streaming media platform called Lookhu. In 2013 Byron Booker began producing live streaming concert events featuring up and coming bands and multiplatinum recording artists. In 2014 Byron utilized the OTC staple ROKU to launch a music network for emerging recording artist.

Its said that every day more content is created than the last 2000 years combined. With the evolution of media going from programed to trending, live to VOD and from TVs to devices catering to the viewer has become increasingly more customized. Consumers want to watch content in a way that’s easy to use, familiar and yet flexible enough to fit their on demand lifestyle.

Having followed the new media trends closely over the past two years Byron Booker believed that there was a void in the market place for content creators and consumers. Youtube gave us a destination to discover new viral content that we would never otherwise. Cable TV has given us a medium where by we can find live, consistent, and quality content in predetermined packages. Netflix gave us quality VOD assets we can view on-demand. Byron wanted one platform that could achieve all these benefits within a business model that satisfied both consumers and creators?

Byron Booker considers himself an elegant disrupter. Disruption is rarely an elegant process yet requires lots and grace under fire in order to achieve success. Like many entrepreneurs Byron has had some success and some failure yet has never compromised his intention of being the change that he seeks in the world as it evolves around him. Doing "for good for profit" is a phrase commonly used but rarely achieved. It's a mission that Byron will pursue throughout his life.

Byron Booker, Entrepreneur

There are several competitors that are dominating the market. Cable TV won’t sit quietly by while cord-cutters are leaving by the thousands daily. New companies like Pluto are emerging to satisfy the markets appetite for web content on the go. There will certainly be a little something for everyone out there who wants to have media there way all the time and within their budget.

Byron foresees that even with all the transformation happening in new media A La Carte channels are also soon to become the norm. This means that designing a platform that works for today is not enough to be sustainable over the long term. The UX that’s going to stand the test of time over the next decade has to take into account where things will settle in the next few years.

It seems like daily we see another article taking about the changes happening with the FCCs stance on streaming media, net neutrality and competition in the cable TV space.  No one can say with 100% certainty how things will evolve in the coming years or even months when it comes to the new rules of the media game. We can say that new leaders will emerge out of the volatility in the market. Byron Booker plans on being apart of the change and not just a bystander.
