NH, U.S.A. - Enventure Technology Services, a leading engineering services and compliance data services provider to global corporations, is now offering services and support for companies that need to comply with the upcoming US legislation on conflict minerals.

'Conflict minerals' refers to minerals mined predominantly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and adjoining countries where armed conflict is prevalent (the DRC Zone), and in conditions which abuse human rights. New rules concerning conflict minerals mandate that any US SEC regulated company, for which conflict minerals are necessary for the functionality or production of a product manufactured, should fully disclose whether its conflict minerals originated in the DRC Zone or not. This has been provisioned within the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which comes into effect in April 2011.

Minerals currently identified as conflict minerals include Columbite-tantalite, Cassiterite, Wolframite and Gold, although this list is expected to expand in the future. This regulation once effective, will present new challenges to companies' supply chain groups, as tracing minerals' sources will become a more uphill task, and the supply base is not obliged to address this issue.

"Enventure is one of the first companies to actually offer comprehensive support to companies that need to comply with the new conflict minerals regulations to remain fully-functional," commented a spokesperson for Enventure. "Our compliance services in this area involve taking measures to ensure the work load forced on supply chain groups is reduced as much as possible, and includes supplier training, development of compliance road maps, consulting , gap analysis, collection of data and declarations from suppliers as well as essential ongoing maintenance of supplier declarations to offer the most comprehensive support possible, to our clients. We encourage any organization set to be affected by the new regulation to contact our company and speak with one of our compliance experts."
