Environmental Source Samplers (ESS) Announces Coast Guard Accreditation for Shipboard Incinerator Stack Testing
Source emission and stack testing company, Environmental Source Samplers, Inc. (ESS), announces their accreditation by the United States Coast Guard to perform certification to conduct stack testing on shipboard incinerators.
Online, February 22, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Environmental Source Samplers, Inc. (ESS), a source emission and stack testing firm based in Wilmington, North Carolina, is pleased to announce that their laboratory has received accreditation by the United States Coast Guard to perform certification to conduct testing on shipboard incinerators. This accreditation certification gives ESS the status as a Coast Guard Accepted Facility for testing incinerators for compliance with the standards and regulations in EPA 46 CFR Part 63, which were implemented under the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) in 1974.
The accreditation followed an approval process, including a site-visit to the ESS laboratory by U.S. Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander Rob Griffiths, conducted on the 18th of January, 2012. ESS joins only three other United States firms in this certification, and is the only one of the three located on the Eastern Seaboard.
ESS has been performing stack testing and source emission testing for EPA compliance since 1979. As leaders in the field of air emissions testing, ESS has highly trained, qualified, and experienced technicians performing and overseeing every aspect of the testing procedures. Their on-site laboratory utilizes advanced technology to meet the current and future needs of their clients while their off-site specialty labs supply the equipment and resources necessary for testing the majority of samples collected. ESS provides clients with detailed and reliable reporting that can be accessed through their secure online portal.
Industries reliant upon stack testing and source testing for EPA compliance include plants and facilities that utilize air emission sources. ESS has experience testing various sources within a wide range of industries including shipboard incinerators, chemical processing, steel mills, printing, pulp and paper, metalwork, machine tools, and more.
"ESS is proud to have earned the coveted accreditation certification for testing on shipboard incinerators from the U.S. Coast Guard and to be qualified as one of only three firms to be able to provide this type of testing," comments ESS Sales Manager Brian Mellor. "This certification helps mark us as leaders in the source testing industry and we are extremely excited about the opportunities available to us as a result."
