Environmentally-Safe Electronics Recycling Event to be Held April 24th

When improperly disposed, electronic waste accounts for over half of the toxins found in landfills. Media technology devices such as computers, televisions, and cameras represent a significant portion of electronic waste.

On Saturday April 24th, from 11am to 3pm, Mac Business Solutions (MBS) is hosting a free recycling event. Those products will be recycled in compliance with state and federal regulations. Mac Business Solutions will be holding an Earth Day raffle for those who attend, winners to be notified April 26th. All who recycle an old Macintosh computer will be given $150 off their next Apple purchase and will be able to transfer their old data for a nominal fee.

To participate, simply bring your old electronics to Mac Business Solutions at 9057 Gaither Road between the hours of 11am and 3pm on April 24th, 2010. Light snacks will be provided. Acceptable materials include media related technology such as computers, cell phones, monitors, printers, copiers and hard drives. Home appliances such as lamps, air conditioners and refrigerators, as well as bulk drop-offs will not be accepted.
