CHICAGO, IL, September 29, 2009 - Equestrian Connection NFP (600 N. Bradley - Lake Forest) is pleased to announce its annual fall fundraiser, Marty's Barn Party Benefit and Concert, in memory of the late Marty Domitrovich, one of its instrumental founding members. The upcoming event will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. and is dedicated to honoring the organization and its participants. The Barn Party Benefit and Concert kicks off the fall season with an old-fashioned American celebration amid the remarkable, sprawling grounds of Equestrian Connection just north of the city.

At 5:30 p.m., guests will enter the indoor riding arena, which will be entirely carpeted for the event, for check-in and seating. During this time, EC-affiliated Chicago bar and grill, The Pony (1638 W. Belmont), will provide traditional comfort fare including roasted corn-on-the-cob, chicken and other all-American style dishes. Local rock band, The Turnstyles, will set the stage with live entertainment from 6 to 7 p.m. After dinner, guests may peruse an array of various silent auction items including sports memorabilia, celebrity-autographed photos, trips, and gift certificates along with many more items.

At 7 p.m., the Equestrian Connection Board will give a brief presentation before hosting an exhilarating live auction. At 8 p.m., the renowned and beloved Beatles' tribute band, American English, will take the stage for the first of two sets for the evening. After a short intermission, the rock group will conclude the evening with a second performance from 10 to 11:30 p.m.

With its inception eight years ago as a therapeutic outlet for individuals with disabilities, Equestrian Connection has become one of the most extensive therapeutic horseback riding programs in the United States. Currently the program boasts nineteen great horses, two physical therapists, speech therapists and seven NARHA certified riding instructors as well as 200 volunteers.

All of the proceeds from the Barn Party Benefit and Concert on October 17, 2009 will directly benefit Equestrian Connection in order for families of all financial statuses to continue participating in the therapeutic programs.

Parking for the event is located at the CDW building lot around the corner, with a complimentary shuttle service available to the Equestrian Connection grounds.
