Online, December 13, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Following the recent changes to MySpace, which severely cut the readership of her blog Lale's Magical Thinking Emporium, Erin Lale has ended her blog and given the name to her new Cafepress Store.
Lale says, "Because of the recent changes to MySpace resulting in low readership on my blog, Lale's Magical Thinking Emporium, I'm ending that blog and re-using the name for my newly launched Cafepress store, where I'll be making my creative slogans available on shirts and various other items. As you know, I recently closed my eBay Store, Magicalrealist Gallery. The custom fabric dyeing business had fallen off since 2008 and the fees had gone up and up, so it was no longer profitable.
"Sites like Cafepress and the Amazon Kindle Store, where I sell my book, where sellers get a commission instead of paying listing fees like in eBay Stores, are the new wave of e-business. Sellers pay before the sale in eBay Stores, and keep paying listing fees even if there is no sale. eBay Stores are an obsolete business model. Cafepress, Amazon Kindle, and similar sites, where the seller sets up items for free, the site collects money from customers and delivers the item-- whether a download like the Kindle Store or a physical item like a T shirt on Cafepress-- and then automatically deposits money to the seller's account, those are a good deal for everybody, and a much better deal for a seller than the pay-first model."
The first item in Lale's Magical Thinking Emporium is a T shirt with an anti-TSA protest message. She plans to add many funny or political slogan items. Referring to her recent run for Nevada State Assembly, Lale says "Looking toward 2012, you might just see a campaign slogan here."
