Essex Weather Centre Re-launches EssexWeather.com in Time for Spring Season

EssexWeather.com, a website dedicated to providing up-to-date weather information, has recently re-launched with a bigger server and the latest technology to accommodate an ever-increasing traffic.

Learning about the weather keeps people in the United Kingdom ahead of their daily tasks and schedules. It can be frustrating to plan and get ready for something and end up cancelling it due to bad weather. Similarly, homeowners need to be constantly aware of the weather than be unprepared for heavy rain or storms. For people who are keen about making sure that their plans go as scheduled, a weather forecast guide is a necessity.

The Essex Weather Centre is backed by a dedicated team of qualified forecasters and professional meteorologists who provide daily weather forecasts to residents in Essex. The only independent weather centre in the United Kingdom, EssexWeather.com started serving the public in July 2009, delivering comprehensive daily forecasts and weather warnings.

In February 2013, snow and ice levels peaked in Essex, resulting to hourly EssexWeather.com visitor traffic levels reaching the thousands. In March, the team saw unforeseen cold weather, which eventually ended up being the coldest since 1962. For the first time, the website passed one million visitors in a single month with over three million page views.

Because of the unprecedented turn of events, the experts behind EssexWeather.com saw it imperative to double the size of its server infrastructure. As a result, the team re-launched the new and improved EssexWeather.com. As part of the re-launch, health forecasts have been added, emphasising UV levels, air pollution and pollen rates.

"With over 6 million visitors since launch, it had become clear that the web site needed to be re-designed as 43% of visitors connect using a mobile device or tablet," Senior Meteorologist Dr. Andre Cole adds.

In serving the people of Essex, the new EssexWeather.com team gathers all of the latest data from weather stations on land and sea, satellites, radar and computer models. The team presents a detailed local weather forecast, short range forecast, five-day graphical forecast, an extended long range forecast to 30 days, hourly weather report, regional rainfall radar, European satellite images and instant access to traffic cameras from around Essex.
