Etiqa Registers 53 Agents and Staff To Its Risk Management and Insurance Degree Program
Online, October 27, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Etiqa Insurance and Takaful, through its learning and development centre for its agents and distributors, the Etiqa Academy, today welcomed 53 agents and staff into its off-campus, Risk Management and Insurance bachelor's degree program.

That is why we encourage and assist our staff and agents to gain more knowledge in the various technical and softskill areas, through programs such as this, so that they are able to put people before policies," said Dato Aminuddin Md Desa, Chief Executive Officer of Etiqa.
The Risk Management and Insurance degree program is a collaboration between Etiqa and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and quickly became a reality as Etiqa was very keen in enhancing the knowledge, skills and professionalism of the agents and at the same time, provides them with the opportunity to gain higher qualifications.
According to Aminuddin, getting the degree at the end of the program means that the agents and staff will be more competent and with a higher qualification certificate at hand, they will be able to grow more in terms of career and business and consequently help their family to lead a better life. This is in line with the nation's vision to create a knowledgeable society and help Malaysians live a higher standard of living.
Etiqa, genuinely concerned with the success of the degree program participants, is also providing additional support in the form of financial assistants. Agents who register for the program receive a 75% tuition fee subsidy from Etiqa while staff who joined the program receives financial support through the company's Education Assistance Scheme.
The program will see the agents and staff balancing their work, family and studies as they attend to the various classes and courses at the Etiqa Academy every alternating weekends for the next four years. The degree program is fully supported by the recognized education system in UUM and their qualified and experienced educators.
According to Mohd Sani Ayob, Head of Etiqa Academy, "The Etiqa Academy, located in Jalan Melaka, is well equipped with more than 10 learning halls and other facilities for agents such a library, a computer room, a premier lounge and ample meeting rooms which are available to them in their quest to develop themselves, their career and their business."
