Evan Guthrie Law Firm Attends Stall High School Career Symposium In North Charleston, SC

Online, October 14, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina attended the Career Symposium at Stall High School in North Charleston, SC on Thursday April 25th 2013. The event was similar to a career day as the high school students were matched with speakers representing different professions based on their interests. Mr. Guthrie represented lawyers and the legal professions at Stall High as part of the event. Attorney Guthrie spoke to three different groups of students that had a potential interest in a legal career for around a half hour each as part of the event. Mr. Guthrie's presentation went over several topics including his own personal background and where he came from, the things he learned in high school and college that helped him prepare for a legal career, how one goes from college to law school and what the Law School Admission Test is, what law school class is like, what happens during three years of law school, what a state bar exam is like and what is on it, how a lawyer is sworn in to practice law, what the day to day practice of law is like, the best and worst parts about being a lawyer, how much a lawyer typically gets compensated, and the motivations to become and maintain being a lawyer.

This was the first time that Mr. Guthrie spoke at Stall High School and the first time he has visited the current Stall building. Attorney Guthrie had only been to Stall High and their previous building to participate in high school athletic contests. Mr. Guthrie enjoyed his visit to the school and the opportunity to speak to and possibly encourage students to consider the law profession. Attorney Guthrie relishes the chance to represent law careers at events like the Career Symposium because they are so important to students and the community. Mr. Guthrie looks forward to being able to come to Stall again in the future and visit again.
