Evans, GA Soap Company Helps Area Non-Profits
The Asparagus Soap company proudly handcrafts 100% of their soaps, using only natural ingredients.
Online, May 23, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Asparagus Soap Company, a home based, handmade natural soap company, is proud to promote the importance of helping those in need. Working together with the Golden Harvest Food Bank and the Augusta Jewish Community Center, soap maker Charles Ronen uses some of the bowls left over from the Empty Bowl event for his shaving soap, adding a $5.00 surcharge as a donation to GHFB.
The Asparagus Soap Company also works together with Lyndale, Inc. to support their sheltered workshop. Ronen purchases the materials for the sheltered workshop to cut and nail into wooden soap dishes. He then purchases the completed soap dishes for sale or as a gift to his customers. Asparagus Soap Company customers learn about hunger in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) and about the sheltered workshop.
The Asparagus Soap Company is a home based business, with soap cooking in buckets on top of the kitchen stove. The premium soap bars are poured into individually crafted oval molds and bars are cut with a cutting tool designed by Charles Ronen, owner and founder of the Asparagus Soap Company. The bars dry on shelves in the guest room. The Asparagus Soap Company uses only natural vegetable and essential oils in its hand cut bars. Colors are derived from natural ingredients such as green or yellow French clay, turmeric and paprika. Used with a poof and left to rest on a ridged soap dish such as prepared by the Lyndale sheltered workshop, bars last as long as 3 months.
Companies and local businesses have enjoyed giving an Asparagus Soap Company gift basket or a bar of premium soap in a handmade gauze bag on a sheltered workshop soap dish as holiday or thank you gifts. The Asparagus Soap Company also produces miniature bars for inns and guest houses.
Asparagus Soap has been generating great interest both locally and nationally. Please read the Augusta Chronicle article about this natural handcrafted soap company for an in depth overview of the company, or visit the Asparagus Soap website at: www.asparagus-soap.com.
