Event Slated to Honor Ellen Sauerbrey, One of Maryland's Political Trailblazers
Columbia, MD, September 8, 2015 (Newswire.com) - What: Honorary Dinner for Ambassador Ellen Sauerbrey
When: Friday, November 6th, 2015
"Ellen is one of those rare individuals whose ego is inversely proportional to her accomplishments. So even though she doesn't see what the fuss is all about, we knew we had to provide a venue for her many admirers to celebrate her innumerable contributions to our great state and country."
Duane Carey, President, MBRG
Where: Turf Valley Resort & Conference Center
2700 Turf Valley Road
Ellicott City, MD 21042
Why:
Ellen Sauerbrey doesn’t understand what the fuss is all about. Born in the post-Depression era to a working class family in a state that boasts a wide array of famous activists, Sauerbrey is skeptical that her public service achievements (which include becoming the first female Minority Leader in the Maryland House of Delegates and being appointed Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration by then-President George Bush) should be considered alongside other Maryland greats.
To demonstrate just how much Sauerbrey’s leadership means to the Maryland community, Maryland Business for Responsive Government (MBRG), a nonpartisan group committed to enhancing the state’s economic health by educating the electorate and holding legislators accountable for their decisions in Annapolis, will honor her at an event on November 6th, 2015, at Turf Valley in Ellicott City, MD.
A limited number of tickets to the event honoring Ambassador Sauerbrey are available at a cost of $125 per individual, $200 per couple, and $1,000 for a table of ten, via the event page on the MBRG website.
