The Artists
"Standing in front of a blank substrate challenges me to draw on my memories while remaining in the present moment. While moving back and forth — letting each brushstroke take me where it needs to be — I paint rapidly, racing to make the ephemeral tangible."
Brenda Zappitell, Featured Artist
Brenda Zappitell, a Florida native, and Delray Beach resident, creates abstract expressionist work influenced by nature and her life experiences. An avid traveler, Zappitell’s work showcases a unique perspective often influenced by nature, her life experiences, and the places she has seen. Her work consistently combines movement and color and emphasizes both beauty and imperfection. Zappitell’s work has been shown in museums and gallery exhibitions throughout the country, including a solo exhibition at the Boca Raton Museum of Art in 2015, where her work is a part of their permanent collection.
Internationally renowned sculptor Jane Manus has achieved a broad spectrum of success and notoriety in the art world. Manus’ abstract geometric works have been showcased in galleries and museums, and are often the focal point of large-scale buildings and community spaces. Manus’ is uniquely fluid in scale, ranging from small personal sculptures to commercial-size pieces. As one of the few female artists in her genre, Manus has truly paved the way for female sculptors and contemporary artists.
Boston mixed media artist Jane Maxwell’s work is the result of a synergy between vintage materials juxtaposed with modern fashion and design. Additionally, Maxwell’s work represents a deep fascination for pop culture and female icons. Her work often speaks out on the issues of body image and perfectionism. Maxwell pulls inspiration for her work from her own personal experiences as a woman. Maxwell’s work has been shown in countless exhibitions.
Jen Pack, creates impeccable work out of fabric and textiles. She deconstructs, reconstructs, sews and stretches fabric over custom wood frames. Pack’s largely fabric-based work is known for its ample use of color and avid attention to detail. Jen personally creates every aspect of the piece and ensures the perfect placement of every detail. The creation of each piece is so detailed and meticulous, she only creates a limited number of pieces a year. Featured in New American paintings, Pack feels a deep connection to color and texture, citing colors as an influence from an early age.
