Faces of Influence - a Pop-Up Art Show in Downtown's Market Tower - November 26 - December 18

This November 26 - December 18, Market Tower at 151 Dundas Street will play host to an exciting art exposition! Two London-based visual artists, Eve Nicholson-Smith and Antony Hare of Antony Hare Private Illustration (AHPI), will be featured. On November 26th, between 7:30 and 10:00 p.m., an opening reception will take place, with light snacks and a cash bar.

Market Tower’s main floor has been the site of a variety of downtown art events since it was purchased by BSN London Corporation, a division of Farhi Holdings, and began to be managed by Brumitt Management & PR Group, including:

●     2010’s “Dress Up Downtown for the Holidays”;

In winters of old, Londoners ventured downtown each holiday season to see the dressed-up windows of Simpson's Department Store. Here's hoping city and country dwellers alike will come downtown and shop, have a great meal, and enjoy the art featured in "Faces of Influence" at Market Tower this November/December!

Gena Brumitt, Manager, Market Tower

●     Steve Tracy art pop-up’s, including a 2013 self-guided walking tour for the World Figure Skating Championships; and

●     2014’s “Market Tower Presents: Simpson’s at Christmas”

This November 26 - December 18, with Ryan Craven (Simpson’s at Christmas) as the show’s organizer, Market Tower will again play host to an exciting art exposition!  Two London-based visual artists, Eve Nicholson-Smith and Antony Hare of Antony Hare Private Illustration (AHPI), will be featured. Nicholson-Smith is a painter living in London. She received her B.A. in Visual Arts from Western University in 2010. She has been featured in art shows in London and Montreal. Hare is a professional illustrator living in London. His signature illustrations have been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Esquire, and Toronto Life.

For this pop-up event, both artists’ work highlights portraits of people who’ve been an important influence on their lives either personally or creatively. Eve uses oils and acrylics in bright colours. Antony has created digital drawings for the show, primarily in black. Each artist will hang a dozen pieces of their work.

On November 26th, between 7:30 and 10:00 p.m., an opening reception will take place, with light snacks and a cash bar. After the reception, the space will be open Wednesday to Friday from noon until 3:00 p.m., and one of the artists will be onsite during those hours. Proceeds from art sales go directly to these talented artists.

Looking forward, Market Tower at 151 Dundas Street is positioning itself to host more events focused on the arts. A vibrant arts community is one of London’s great strengths! By supporting that collective, we all have an opportunity to help create a more appealing city and strengthen the local economy. Everyone is welcome!

“Faces of Influence” sponsors are Farhi Holdings Corporation, Brumitt Management & PR Group, and Downtown London.
