Family Board Games, Etc. Launches Game Parties
Family Board Games Etc., an Akron, Ohio Company, has announced its plans to conduct game parties beginning in January 2011. The purpose of the parties is to allow people to play lesser known family games from up and coming game companies.
Online, January 3, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Family Board Games, Etc., located in Akron, Ohio and at familyboardgamesetc.com, will begin conducting game parties in January of 2011. "The purpose of our parties is to share our love of games", says Michael Kreidler, President for Life of Family Board Games, Etc. "so we bring games to people". Jeri Bennett, co-owner, continues, "Too many excellent games are just not getting the game play they deserve and too many families are either not playing games or are playing the wrong games". Game parties are their solution.
The game parties are hosted by a family, individual, or organization. Family Board Games, Etc. brings all of the games to be played. The games are introduced and then played. If the party-goer enjoys a game, they can purchase it and take a new copy home with them. The parties consist of about an hour of open play. Kreidler says, "Games are supposed to be fun. We provide the raw material for the fun, the rest is up to the group".
The games Family Board Games, Etc. carries are selected based on four criteria. First, the game must be fun to play, second, it can be played by many different ages "such as grandparents with their grandkids" states Jeri Bennett, co-owner of the company. The third criteria is that there must be fast game-play. The games can be played in 10 to 30 minutes so that many rounds can be played during a one hour family game night, fund-raiser, or school event. Fourth is an educational component. Kreidler states, "None of our games are educational, per se, but they all have educational components. They promote pattern recognition, abstract reasoning, and communication skills".
Family Board Games Etc. plans to hold game parties in Central and Northern Ohio exclusively before launching the parties nationally during the fourth quarter of 2011. Kreidler states "There has been a great deal of interest in home parties, church events, and fund-raisers, it's all very exciting."
Individuals, families, and groups can book a party or get more information at or 330-936-5560.
