Fashion Journalist and Style Expert Constance White and the legendary Norma Kamali to address key fashion, retail and online trends and leading topics for 2011
New York- BRAG (Black Retail Action Group) will host one of the country's most respected fashion journalists and style experts, Constance White, as she leads a one on one discussion with legendary fashion designer Norma Kamali on Wednesday, September 29th from 6-8:30pm. Sponsored by Macy's Inc., the event will be held at Macy's Herald Square, 459 7th Avenue, 16th floor. The in-depth tête-a-tête will cover a range of industry topics that include everything from the impact of politics on fashion and how the economy will continue to shape the fashion industry to the impact of technology on fashion and key styles and fabric trends for 2011.
Recognized as the go-to gal for advice on fashion trends, expert commentary and industry analysis White has appeared as a guest judge on "Project Runway" and "America's Next Top Model". She has also made appearances on MTV, Oprah, E! Fashion File, Entertainment Tonight and, the Style Network's Style Star. A former New York Times Style Reporter and ebay Style Director, White was one of the first fashion journalists to cross over into the digital space where she has become an expert on style marketing and merchandising online and off.
A veteran of the fashion industry Kamali has always been known as an innovative designer who follows her own path. A designer who invented designs such as The Sleeping Bag Coat and whose swimwear has influenced an entire industry each season since its launch in 1974, Kamali has received numerous awards for fashion design, architecture design, interior design, the creation of fashion video short stories, and community public service.
