Fashion Model Launches a Software Company to Help You Find the Perfect Fitting Jeans

Fashion model and entrepreneur, Rian Buckley, launches Fitcode, a data fashion company that allows women to shop denim that not only fits, but flatters—from the comfort of home.

Finding jeans that fit well can be a daunting endeavor. It usually requires multiple shops, brands, sizes and oftentimes returns. With lots of effort and a little luck you might find the winning pair. Finding jeans that fit perfectly online? Impossible…until now.

Fashion model and entrepreneur, Rian Buckley, founded Fitcode, a data fashion company that allows women to shop denim that not only fits, but flatters—from the comfort of home.

"For online shopping, it really comes down to fit, not size...Other offers on the market are totally focused on solving for size, which is interesting because as most women know, just because you can button a jean doesn't mean it looks good."

Rian Buckley, Founder & CEO

The Entrepreneur behind the Denim:

After graduating from University of Washington with an Athletic Scholarship, Rian Buckley, the CEO and co-founder of Fitcode, ventured into modeling. While modeling for big brands and retailers, Rian was struck by the amount of pinning, altering, and Photoshop required to make clothing look good during fashion shoots. She realized this wasn’t a problem unique to her, there are no standardized measurements across brands (especially true for denim), which makes shopping for denim a frustrating guessing game. Traditional sizing focuses on the measure of waist and inseam, but the fit of denim can vary greatly, depending on the brand, style and fabric. “For online shopping, it really comes down to fit, not size,” said Buckley. “Other offers on the market are totally focused on solving for size, which is interesting because as most women know, just because you can button a jean doesn’t mean it looks good.”

Rian made it her mission to help women find jeans they love by focusing on fit, rather than size. By women and for women, the Fitcode team uses an innovative data system to change the way women shop and wear their denim.
