Sarah Shraded introduced a new way of practicing yoga. She calls it antigravity yoga as you won't touch a floor during practice. Every yogis hands upside down on a hammock that can allow to do better stretches and bring more freedom in moves.

"Although grounded in yoga, we pull from dance, calisthenics, gymnastics, aerobatics. You get a great core workout but have tons of fun," said Sarah Shrader, owner of Fit to the Core in Austin.

Sarah and Travis Shrader discovered the class in New York two years ago.

"We couldn't find it anywhere in the state, so we figured, 'Why don't we do it?' So we brought AntiGravity Yoga to Austin and to Texas," said Travis Shrader, owner of Fit to the Core.

The class uses hammocks suspended three feet off the ground.

"Because you are offset with your weight in the hammock, you are able to get into deeper stretches," said Sarah Shrader.

The poses inside the hammock allow you to hang upside down.

"While you are in those inversions, the hammock is completely supporting you so you can have that spinal decompression," said Sarah Shrader.

And the Shraders said you won't fall out of the hammock, and it's tested to hold up to 1,000 pounds. That way, you can feel safe doing yoga while dangling in the air.

Classes just started this week at their studio in Westlake off Bee Caves Road. They start at $18 per class or are $15 if you buy 10 classes at a time.
