FFCRA & CARES Act Explained: Guides to Small Business Assistance

DENVER, March 30, 2020 (Newswire.com) - As many Colorado employers have experienced dramatic declines in business, every day matters in plotting next steps and taking action. The newly announced CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Recovery and Economic Security) Act is a $2 trillion aid package that will offer significantly enhanced benefits for employers and employees over the next six months.
“As Colorado employers, my view is that we must all do everything we can to protect and serve our community,” says Jordan Conley, President of Obsidian HR. “This is a crisis for all of us, and we are all in it together.”
Notably, CARES will make larger SBA and financial distress loans available to small businesses. These loans include provisions to be “forgiven” in proportion to how much of the loan is used to maintain employment at pre-coronavirus levels. For qualified businesses, at 100%, the government is funding the payroll of employees for the next three months.
