Final Countdown for Goa International Pinhole Photography contest 2010

Goa, (March 31, 2010)--With only a few days left of the contest, pinhole photographers from across the world are counting-down for the worldwide Pinhole Photography Day on April 25, 2010, in India.

Goa-CAP, in partnership with Zero Images, Holga, and Stenoflex,
launched the Goa International Pinhole Photography Contest 2010 in
order to support, promote and celebrate the art of pinhole photography
in India and to honor The World Pinhole Photography Day, April 25,
2010.

The eminent Jury panel for this contest comprises of some of the
internationally acclaimed pinhole and alternative photographers namely
Ms. Mieko Tadokoro, Chairman of Japan Pinhole Photographic Society
(JPPS), Mr. Gregg D. Kemp, Founding member Worldwide Pinhole
Photography Day (WPPD) and Founder of Pinhole Visions web site Mr.
Byron James Bignell, founder of Pinhole Gallery, a gallery of
Contemporary Pinhole Photography and Keliy Anderson-Staley, Workshop
Coordinator, The Center for Alternative Photography

There are exciting prizes to be won by the contenders of the Pinhole
photography contest. Zero Image Cameras will provide three Zero Image
Cameras with winner's name engraved on the camera, Holga will provide
10 pinhole cameras, (Holga 120 and Holga 135 ) to the winners and
Stenoflex will provide 10 classic Le Stenope Mini Labo Luxe cameras.

The world pinhole day, 25th April 2010 would be celebrated with a
grand exhibition curating the winning and jury selected images in New
Delhi. The exhibition will then travel to Mumbai and Goa. All the
competition entered images would be presented in a coffee table book
to be published in August 2010.

All pinhole photographers around the world are welcome to participate
in this contest. Pinhole photographers can send in their entries
either by the email (mail id: [email protected]) or snail mail to
the Goa Center for Alternative Photography office in India. The
deadline for entries is 05 April 2010.

NOTES TO EDITORS

Goa Center for Alternative Photography (Goa-CAP), a non-profit, artist
initiated Centre of excellence in India is dedicated to work on the
alternate photography and archival research.

Zero Image Company is a pinhole camera manufacturer, professional

instructions for use. The Stenoflex was designed to share rare moments
and emotions in scientific and artistic, with a singular experience,
which opens new areas and forms of creative expression.

Holga, In 1982 T.M. Lee created the Holga. His vision was to inspire
millions of Chinese to create lasting memories with this simple and
affordable camera, at a time when photography was an expensive luxury
in China that few could indulge in. Today, more than two decades
later, the Holga has inspired millions throughout the world with the
unique imagery it creates in the hands of the inspired artist. The
Holga has become a classic. In its many manifestations it bridges the
span between traditional photography and modern visual art.
