Finally, Training Tools to Make Veteran Hiring Easy

Translating Military Leadership and Training Into Business

Recognizing the difficulties Service Members face as they transition from the military world to the corporate world, VNOTES, LLC recently published a handbook to assist hiring managers and corporations better understand the complexities of military service.

VNOTES, a small business developed by a Veteran and three military spouses, created the handbook to facilitate corporate understanding of military training and combat the difficulties Service Members face as they transition from the military.

VNOTES Founder Leigh Searl shared: “As military spouses, we live our lives supporting the ethos of the American Dream. We want to enable Veterans who transition out of the military to find and live their American Dream in the corporate sector. The VNOTES handbook is the perfect cliff note sized tool for employers to better understand the complex nature of military training and understand where that Service Member would fit into their organization.”

Obviously, Service Members do have tactical training, shoot weapons and go to war. In addition to the tactical training, Service Members receive an equal amount of leadership training, which is often misunderstood because of the complexity of the military organization. The VNOTES handbook provides companies with a broad-based foundation to understand the military organization and the leadership training Service Members receive.

Cait Miller, VNOTES Co-Founder, states: “According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2016, 453,000 Veterans were unemployed. This is a significant pool of talent that often goes untapped. We believe our product can offer positive change to this number.”

In addition to the handbook, companies can also retain VNOTES consulting services and leverage the founders' experience, knowledge and expertise to supplement or support Veteran hiring.

“As a Veteran, I understand the intrinsic value Service Members offer to the corporate sector.  I also understand the confusion surrounding Veteran skills because of the tactical focus that is so often projected,” said Robin Vinci, VNOTES Co-Founder. Robin went on to say: “VNOTES provides corporations with the missing piece to support the Veteran hiring initiative.”
