Financial Education Benefits Center Serves Up New Legal Services Benefit
SAN RAMON, Calif., March 1, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Local governments make a lot of money in traffic tickets and other vehicle-related fines and fees. Chicago, for example, raked in more than $200 million in tickets in 2016. While a ticket or traffic violation may be an afterthought for some, they can have more serious consequences for others if not dealt with immediately. Sometimes receiving legal assistance earlier rather than later may help. Financial Education Benefits Center (FEBC), a membership benefits company, is offering a new legal services benefit to eligible members to make getting legal help easier.
“When it comes to legal issues, not having help can be a very distressing situation,” said Jennifer Martinez, Manager at FEBC. “This new benefit will hopefully make finding legal advice and assistance a lot simpler for FEBC members.”

The legal services benefit is available to members of certain plan levels. It allows members to call a number and be referred to a participating attorney who can provide free or discounted services in specific areas of law. Members should have the area of law they require in mind before they call the number.
For FEBC members who may not have known where to seek out a lawyer, or who may have been prohibited by the cost of hiring a lawyer, this benefit may make life less complicated when an issue does arise. While an issue like a traffic ticket may seem straightforward, recipients of tickets may find the situation snowballing if they cannot pay the full fees, if their car is impounded, or if their license is revoked. Legal advice may be beneficial for someone who does not know what to do next.
“While nothing is guaranteed, when you have the support of professionals when it comes to legal matters, you may be facing better odds in whatever issue you’re facing,” said Martinez. “With this new FEBC legal services benefit, we’re hoping to make legal situations for our members less stressful and, with hope, outcomes more favorable.”
