Financial Education Benefits Center Supports Pet Health and Wellness

The health and wellness industry has been growing for years, but now it’s spreading to pets. Owners often see their pets as part of the family so it’s natural that they want them to be healthy. How do they do that? They focus on their health and wellness, just like they do for themselves and their human family members and friends. Financial Education Benefits Center (FEBC) offers members a pet care benefit that promotes health and wellness for their pets.

“Focusing on our own health is essential for living a long and happy life,” said Jennifer Martinez, Manager at FEBC. “Any pet owner may also argue that their pets are equally important to their happiness. It’s not a leap to want to focus on your pet’s health and wellness to keep them happy and healthy for as long as you can.”

The growth in the pet health and wellness industry is showing trends similar to the human health and wellness industry. Just like humans are gravitating more toward natural products in foods, so, too, are pet owners. In fact, according to a survey, pet owners purchase high-quality foods and treats and have stopped giving their pets table scraps.

This trend toward pet health and wellness is intimately linked to human health and wellness. While humans consider exercising a vital component of their health and wellness, it is also vital for their pets, and it’s something they can do together. In 2017, 26 percent of pet owners started a new exercise routine with their pet and 79 percent of owners expressed that their pet had a positive impact on their physical activity level.

FEBC’s pet care benefit does a lot to help members support their pet’s health and wellness. The benefit provides discounts for veterinary services at participating vet facilities and for food, toys, meds, and more. Also included is access to a 24/7 lost pet recovery service and a one-time credit for boarding, sitting, or walking.

“Our pet’s health is becoming as important as our own,” said Martinez. “With our pet care benefit, we hope to support this trend and reduce potentially high costs associated with vet trips and supplies for pets.”
