Online, January 25, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Today, Findthatstyle, a leader in fashion retail Internet database technologies, launches its official website. The site measures the pulse of fashion from hundreds of shows, such as Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Glee, and many others.
Findthatstyle allows users to find articles of clothing worn by their favorite television program stars using proprietary visual scene search technology. Users can request that unknown items be identified as well as contribute new links to the site. While a user-driven site, the bulk of the data comes from an ever-growing team of fashion experts.
"Our processing and matching engines make the concept possible for the first time at this scale" said Founder, Kevin Whitley. "This system allows Findthatstyle to showcase media fashion at an unprecedented level."
Others have attempted to accomplish what Findthatstyle has done, but none have been able to tackle this problem on such a large scale. Managing and organizing the information present on the site is a huge undertaking of its own.
Co-Founder and CTO, Kenneth Rutland, adds "Due to the volatile nature of the fashion industry, creating a scalable infrastructure to accommodate our needs proved to be a sizable problem that we've had to overcome."
The company has plans to expand its reach over the coming months by allowing website owners to monetize their traffic through customizable widgets. These widgets will give website owners the ability to make use of the wealth of data that Findthatstyle offers.
"We have some creative plans in the works that not only will expand our reach but will allow us to build our brand and overall user-base," said Co-Founder Nick Palacios.
Findthatstyle was founded in 2010 by Kevin Whitley, Nick Palacios and Kenneth Rutland. Each held positions as key developers for a leading fortune 500 company.
