Fine Cut Complete Prestigious Engraving Installation For ST John's Church

Online, September 9, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Fine Cut Graphic Imaging has recently completed a complex engraving project for St Johns Church in Clerkenwell, London.

Fine Cut was approached by Cirrus Laser who required a specialist engraver to re-create a design on the church's floor. The design included 2 brass lions and 2 brass unicorns as well as stonework. Fine Cuts task was to engrave the detail of each of the brass figurines, which were to be 3 times larger than the originals and inset eventually into the floor of a private crypt.

Each figurine was to be created from 3mm solid brass and Fine Cut quickly understood that they must replicate old engraving techniques and finishes, similar to what was originally used for the first engravings, with modern technology and a quick turnaround.

It was essential that Fine Cut worked precisely to the drawings, as the project in total would pass between 4 companies involved ion the overall manufacture - the architect who designed the complete floor pattern and was responsible for installation, Cirrus Laser who would cut the finished engraved figurines, a Portuguese stone mason company responsible for all the patterned stone work and Fine Cut.

Fine Cut engraved the figurines precisely and in filled with black hard wearing resin that would last until the next architect many years from now decided to copy our figurines. Lets just hope that Fine Cut get that job too...
