First American Home Warranty Joins HomeAid America in Effort to End Homelessness

National Partnership Will Support Homeless Housing Development and Community Outreach Programs

First American Home Warranty, one of the leading home warranty providers in the nation and a subsidiary of First American Financial Corporation, will join HomeAid America as a Gold Level National Partner, supporting HomeAid in the fight against homelessness across the country.

“We’re proud to support HomeAid America’s efforts to end homelessness in the United States and believe that First American Home Warranty and our employees can play an important role,” said Tracy Berger, senior vice president of real estate sales at First American Home Warranty. “We share the same philosophy of giving back to the communities we serve and look forward to participating in HomeAid’s local outreach opportunities and contributing to the positive impact they provide.”

HomeAid, one of the nation’s largest providers of housing and resources for the homeless, will use First American Home Warranty’s support to rebuild lives for America’s homeless through HomeAid’s housing development and community outreach programs, as well as chapter expansion efforts. Tracy Berger will also join HomeAid America’s board of directors.

HomeAid’s program identifies charities working to help the homeless that are in need of additional facilities in which to house people. HomeAid’s builder captains and their partners and suppliers take on these projects, completing them at a deep discount through the in-kind donation of their time and materials. These cost savings are reinvested into life-changing programs, such as job and life-skills training, financial counseling and physical and emotional support needed to get back on their feet.

Support from First American Home Warranty comes at a pivotal time as HomeAid enters into its 30th anniversary and celebrates the success of completing over 560 projects that have housed more than 335,000 people who would have otherwise been homeless. Through the HomeAid model, more than $230 million of housing has been developed with a cost savings of over $120 million, thanks to the generosity of the building industry.

“We are so excited and humbled to have First American Home Warranty join HomeAid as a national partner,” said Peter Simons, CEO of HomeAid America. “It shows just how committed and passionate they are about helping the communities where they operate, and it will benefit HomeAid as we enter our 30th year of fighting homelessness in the country. The addition of Tracy Berger to our board of directors is an added bonus, as her insight and leadership will greatly benefit the organization in the years ahead.”
