First Annual Candles & Bourbon Fundraising Event Coming to Belle Isle
Detroit, MI, February 11, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Do you love Bourbon? Detroit history? Maybe a touch of adventure and romance? Scarlett J Productions invites the community to the first annual “Candles & Bourbon” fundraiser at the historic Belle Isle Boathouse located at East Picnic Way on Saturday, February 20, 2016.
Event guests will be swept back in time to 1940’s Detroit in what’s described as a “living art experience” by Scarlett J. Productions owner Jennifer Smith. “Our goal is to provide partygoers with a one-of-a-kind event that will immerse their senses into arguably the greatest decade in American history through period-friendly décor, music and bourbon,” said Smith.
Music by Detroit’s own Isis Damil and Zion Yisrael will fill the historic venue and dance floor along with delectable aromas from 1940’s influenced hors d’oeuvres created by Executive Chef Musheya Glenn, owner of Glenn's Culinary Innovations, creator of Come Taste Detroit and Executive Chef of Edgy Eats.
Guests can also peruse numerous silent action items while indulging on a tantalizing selection of bourbon whiskeys that is sure to appease the most refined bourbon palate.
Doors will open at 7:30pm for Regular Admission ticket holders. Event tickets can be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com/e/candles-bourbon-tickets-20682066618 or at the door the day of the event. Ticket prices will vary with discounts available for advanced purchases. Drink tickets are also available for purchase at the door. Advanced ticket purchase is highly recommended. Additional information is also available on the event's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/events/408304739360793.
Proceeds from the silent auction and event registration will benefit The Detroit Arts Portal and Save Historic Detroit Homes, a low-profit limited liability company that began as a personal endeavor and passion for the city by Smith as shown through the proposed 100 image photo series of the same name to renovate homes and create rent-controlled, sustainable living for qualified applicants.
