AlphaOne, Ahmedabad hosted the first-ever Performance of the South Western Air Command Headquarters on the eve of Independence Day. The two hours Performances were conducted by the Command’s ceremonial 15-member band, including Jazz, at 6.00 P.M. on August 14th at the Central Atrium at AlphaOne.

This unique event was witnessed by Air Officer Commanding in Chief of South Western Air Command, Air Marshal, RK Dhir (AVSM & Vayu Sena Medal) & Mrs. Neelam Dhir, President of Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional), Commander Coast Guard Region North-West, DIG, Rajmani Sharma, Air Vice Marshal, B.K Sood and Air Vice Marshal, A.K Nabh, as well as many officers of the Indian Air Force, along with patrons of AlphaOne.

The next day, during the Independence Day Festivities at AlphaOne, as is customary, the hoisting of the National Flag with the National Anthem initiated the proceedings on August 15th. Several MC led activities including an inter school dance competition among kids in various age groups. There were theme decorations, interactive games, competitions and surprise prizes that kept the spirits high. Over 100 Students from 9 schools participated in Young Ahmedabadi Patriotic Dance Competition at AlphaOne. Patrons cheered heartily for the students’ performances. Students of Delhi Public School won the Group Dance competition and Anay of Lalji Mehrotra Lions won the Solo dance in Junior while Sakshi of Tripada International won the Solo dance in the senior category.
