First Streaming Music Site For Australia
Online, February 10, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Liquid Online Media has officially announced that a beta version of its new platform is planned to be available for official testing at the end of March this year. With a worldwide public launch date scheduled for July 2011, the new platform will be the first site of its kind within Australia.
Dubbed as the new evolution in music, the site will allow users to stream available music in both audio and video format, select a playlist that suits their tastes, download music they wish to buy and chat with online friends, all on one site.
Spokesperson for the site, Shayne Locke, said that the major difference between Liquid and current sites like Spotify or iTunes, is that Liquid is the first to combine all formats into a site that gives the user the choice of streaming or buying directly from the Liquid store. With over 1 million tracks at its official launch, the site will have enough content to make any user happy.
Mr Locke said, "We plan to offer our streaming music site for less than half the price of our competitors with a strong focus on the independent music scene. Additionally, songs can be downloaded for a price set by the artist or label."
The additional feature of social networking will encourage users of Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace to use this service, with the site delivering up to date information and web-content about the users' favourite artists directly from all social networking and video sites.
The super-site for music fans will be ad-free for paying users and ad-supported for casual users who want to sample the music on offer. Advertisers are encouraged to register their interest, as ad-supported space is limited.
To prepare for the launch, Liquid is encouraging everyone to head over to the Facebook site - Liquidonline and register their interest, "like" the page, fill out a short survey, and receive a $20 credit when the beta site opens in March this year.
