FirstView Names Doug Sandberg as Executive Vice President and General Counsel

ATLANTA, April 11, 2019 (Newswire.com) - ​FirstView LLC, an emerging provider of innovative PayTech solutions, today announced that Doug Sandberg has been named executive vice president and general counsel effective March 1, 2019. Mr. Sandberg will report directly to Bob Raffo, president and CEO, and will also serve as chief compliance officer and corporate secretary.

Mr. Sandberg was most recently SVP and general counsel of Worldpay US, a $1 billion subsidiary of the U.K.-based global payment processing giant, where he oversaw all legal and regulatory matters, as well as litigation, U.S. merger and acquisition activity, and customer and vendor contracting support for the commercial business units. His 18-year career at Worldpay US began in 2000 when he created the legal function at the merchant acquirer-processor Lynk Systems. In 2004, Lynk Systems was acquired by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS), where Mr. Sandberg joined the bank’s senior legal team and served as general counsel of Retail Direct U.S., the payments division of RBS’ North American operations. Retail Direct US included an ATM business, its commercial and consumer card issuing business, a joint venture with Kroger Co., as well as the U.S. merchant acquiring and processing business Worldpay. When RBS sold its global merchant acquiring business (the Worldpay Group) to Bain Capital and Advent international in 2010, Mr. Sandberg chose to remain with Worldpay.

In addition to his role at Worldpay US, Mr. Sandberg has been a board member of the American Transaction Processors Coalition since 2015 where he has worked extensively with state and federal representatives on behalf of the payments industry.
