Ingram Content Group Inc. today announced that New York University Press, Penn State University Press, University Press of Kansas, Ohio University Press and the University Press of Mississippi have selected Ingram's CoreSource® digital asset management platform for the storage, management, and distribution of digital content.

"Whether digital or physical, content and metadata must increasingly be managed in much the same way, and at NYU Press, the efficiency and accuracy of the distribution of our data and content to the market is vitally important to our success," said Steve Maikowski, Director, New York University Press. "Ingram has the technology strength, digital asset management, content delivery expertise and customer service staff we require to support our content delivery needs."

Each of the new presses takes advantage of Ingram's print-on-demand services through Lightning Source®. Penn State University Press, Ohio University Press, University Press of Kansas and the University Press of Mississippi have elected to use CoreSource Plus, an Ingram service that manages the business relationship with e-book re-sellers in addition to asset distribution.

"We selected Ingram for our e-content management needs because of our already successful track record with them and their proven ability to provide integrated and flexible physical and digital content solutions," said Tony Sanfilippo, Sales and Marketing Director, Penn State University Press. "Our expanded digital relationship with Ingram will help us deliver our content wherever and however it is wanted."

As university presses adjust their business models to meet today's digital requirements, more are turning to Ingram for integrated physical and digital solutions to reach more students, educators and libraries through Ingram's global distribution system. The newest presses electing to use the CoreSource platform join Princeton University Press, University of Virginia Press, University of Pennsylvania Press, University of California Press, University Press of Kentucky and many others.

"The digital age provides new opportunities for the publication and distribution of scholarly content," said Marcus Woodburn, Vice President of Digital Products, Ingram Content Group. "We are happy to welcome these new presses on board, and are pleased that Ingram's integrated physical and digital distribution solutions and worldwide market reach will have a role in helping the valuable content of these prominent presses easily get their content into the hands of educators, students and researchers."

Ingram's CoreSource platform is an easy-to-use, online solution for the storage, management, and distribution of digital content.
