Fleet of the Future - Moran Transportation Corp.

Moran Transportation Corporation announced today that it has taken delivery of its first electric spotter and an additional 10 natural gas straight trucks and fleet maintenance trucks for use throughout their LTL network. The new alternative fuel trucks further expand Moran's green initiatives and provide Moran with lower cost of energy and a reduction on their carbon footprint.

Moran Transportation Corporation announced today that it has purchased its first electric yard spotter for use in their Chicago operation. Company officials say that the new electric truck will have an immediate and substantial effect on reducing their carbon foot print. The new unit is expected to reduce their daily energy consumption for this spotting unit by more than 80%.

“We are thrilled at the immediate impact of this new spotter. Our goal is to reduce our dependency on gas/diesel fuel as we grow our business by investing in alternative fuel vehicles,” said Rob Petzold, Vice President of Moran Transportation Corporation. “We are very pleased with the functionality and the energy reduction of these new trucks. We hope that we can expand our fleet of electric vehicles as the new technology becomes available.”
 

Moran Transportation Corporation is a growing regional Midwestern LTL carrier that services the states of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
