FleshEatingZipper.com (run as FEZ, LLC), your best source for biting commentary on the latest and greatest in gaming, news, and tech, is growing by leaps and bounds. Following their coverage of the Phoenix Comicon at the end of May 2011, the site's traffic has tripled on a weekly basis. Leading features include exclusive footage of famous author Max Brooks at Phoenix Comicon, cutting, timely editorials on the latest in tech and mobile news, movie and TV show reviews, and one of the first honest previews of Duke Nukem Forever, which went on to bruising reviews. All of this builds on the impressive repository of editorial commentary and news the site has churned out since its founding in January 2011.

"It's nice seeing hard work pay off. Not following the typical sites that just repost what everyone else is posting, but instead trying to concentrate on our opinions and putting our own spin on things seems to be what our readers want," said Kelly Karnetsky, Zombie Ninja Assassin for the site. The site's mantra, reflected in their requirements for new writers, is an emphasis on unique perspectives and opinions, instead of traditional blog publishing standards around rebadging other content as a form of aggregation. "It's a tough marketplace for new blogs. How do you differentiate your offering? The answer, really, is to be yourself. At FleshEatingZipper, that's what we've done and it looks to be paying off," said N. Pfeifer, who serves as the site's Galactic Emperor.

FleshEatingZipper was founded by four podcasters who had taken their gaming, tech, and entertainment-themed show from site to site since January 2010. Deciding to form their own independent editorial website reflected on listeners' reaction to their show, in which their unique knowledge and perspectives were called upon regularly. Rob Morris, FleshEatingZipper's Senior Talentless Bum said, "People said we were crazy to break away and try this on our own... well, mostly WE said that, but we're technically people, so we count. People want the truth and that's what we'll give them, even if it sucks sometimes."
