Florida Crossroads Commerce Park First to Successfully Complete A.S.A.P. Review by JM Mullis

New Marion County commerce park is the first to be successfully reviewed by leading site selection firm.

The Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP) announced today that the new Florida Crossroads Commerce Park has been successfully reviewed by J.M. Mullis, Inc.

The Florida Crossroads Commerce Park is a 900+/- acre parcel located in southern Marion County near the interchange of I-75 and SW County Road 484, a four-lane connector. The site was reviewed under J.M. Mullis, Inc.’s new Advanced Site Analysis and Planning (A.S.A.P.) program and represents the first site to successfully complete their extensive process.

"J.M. Mullis is confident that this planned major industrial park development will be highly successful. The quality of the physical property, access to a very viable and dependable workforce, a strong utility network, and a pro-business County are significant factors that will contribute to the success of the development."

J. Michael (Mike) Mullis, President & CEO J.M. Mullis, Inc.

“J.M. Mullis is confident that this planned major industrial park development will be highly successful. The quality of the physical property, access to a very viable and dependable workforce, a strong utility network, and a pro-business County are significant factors that will contribute to the success of the development," said J. Michael (Mike) Mullis, President & CEO of J.M. Mullis, Inc.

The site review process was a partnership between J.M. Mullis, Inc., the McGinley family (the property owners), SECO Energy, Marion County Board of County Commissioners, and the CEP. SECO Energy CEO Jim Duncan stated, “As the third largest not-for-profit electric co-op in Florida, SECO Energy looks forward to expanding its existing substation off 484 to serve the large-load commercial and industrial customers that will occupy the property in the coming years. This robust economic growth will create jobs, increase the tax base and develop the area for future generations. SECO is proud to serve as the energy provider for such an important project.”

The ASAP Program is intended to evaluate community properties for potential development opportunities. This multi-faceted, hands-on approach assesses the merits of the physical site, the contributing infrastructure, the surrounding community and the jurisdictional authority. The Program focuses on those tangible components of a successful development in an effort to prepare the community and the site for future growth opportunities. The results of this Program will define the “path forward”; plotting the actions needed to successfully prepare the subject site for future development opportunities.

“It is our strong belief that the Florida Crossroads Commerce Park will be the premier industrial location in the state of Florida,” said Ken Ausley, CEP Chairman of the Board. “There is not another site that offers such a strong combination of location, infrastructure, workforce, and community partnership. We greatly appreciate the professionalism of the entire J.M. Mullis team. It has been a great experience for us.”
