Flywheel is excited to announce that it recently completed and obtained AICPA’s Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 examination report. This report provides detailed information regarding Flywheel’s policies, procedures and control environment relevant to security, availability, and confidentiality of data. The certification further reinforces Flywheel’s leading position on compliance and security within the WordPress hosting industry.

“SOC 2 is really a stamp of maturity on almost all areas of our business, from finance to information technology,” Flywheel’s VP of Engineering, Tommy Vacek, stated. “It also allows us to assess risk in our business and make decisions based off of it. When you boil it down, it’s a stamp of approval to demonstrate Flywheel’s intentionality around security.”

Businesses using cloud service providers use SOC 2 reports to assess and address the risks associated with third-party technology services. Flywheel’s SOC 2 examination was conducted by Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. (MHM), a top ten public accounting firm based out of Kansas City, Missouri. MHM worked with a number of Flywheel departments ranging from engineering to finance over several months to assess how Flywheel handles security as a company and how they handle their customers’ data.

Flywheel’s VP of Finance, Steve Isom, reiterated Flywheel’s commitment to its customers’, and their clients’ information and data security. “Since 2012, helping our customers do their best work has been a core value of our company. Our SOC 2 Type 2 certification is not only an added layer of protection for our clients, but a clear indicator of our continued pledge to develop strong, trusting, relationships with our partners and users.”

Flywheel will perform the SOC 2 Type 2 audit on an annual basis and can make the report available to current or potential customers upon execution of a non-disclosure agreement. If you are interested in viewing Flywheel’s recent SOC 2 Type 2 report, please contact them at [email protected].
