For the Sixth Straight Year, Riverview Medical Center Gets Ready To Paint The Town Pink!
Online, May 11, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Pink Bank, NJ - In just a few short weeks, Riverview Medical Center will host its annual "Paint the Town Pink." When thousands of people join forces for a common cause, a few heads will turn with curiosity. It truly takes a village to turn a town pink, and for the sixth straight year, volunteers, committees, businesses, physicians, and local officials make this event a reality. Everyone joins forces for one common goal; to raise awareness of the importance of annual mammography.
Beginning May 4, "Pink Bank" (Red Bank), "Pink Beach" (Monmouth Beach), and "Pink Haven" (Fair Haven), will once again be transformed for Paint the Town Pink. For 2012, Riverview is excited to welcome FIVE new towns to the Pink family including: "Atlantic Pinklands" (Atlantic Highlands), "Pinkdel" (Holmdel), "Little Pink" (Little Silver), "Pinkson" (Rumson), and "Pinkbury" (Shrewsbury), making the event the most represented to date.
Paint the Town Pink was created with the goal to encourage women aged 40 and older to pledge to have their annual mammogram, as well as raise funds to provide mammography to the uninsured and underserved in our community. Through a variety of special events and in-store specials from hundreds of businesses, a "Pink Your House" contest, and involvement from community groups, this year's Paint the Town Pink will be "bigger and Pinker" than ever before!
In addition to in-store participation, Paint the Town Pink also strives to make the educational process fun through various events throughout the eight towns. Several Pink events are already confirmed for this year such as "Party for Pink" at the Navesink Country Club on May 4, and "Pink Community Day" at Riverview on May 6, which last year drew more than 3,000 community members! In addition, Bayshore Community Hospital will be hosting the first-ever "Pink Zumbathon" on May 12 and the ever-popular "Girls Night Out" at The Downtown is back and bigger than ever for this year on May 10, with a new rocking twist!
The theme of this year's Paint the Town Pink is "Men in Pink." For 2012, the Pink communities will get to know several of the men who have supported Paint the Town Pink over the years such as Mark Arnone, the man behind the "Pink line" and Bob McKay, the man behind the "Pink lens."
With the expansion of Paint the Town Pink, 2012 will cast a wider pink hue across Monmouth County. What began as an idea six years ago has been transformed into a grassroots initiative that is changing lives in very tangible and meaningful ways.
Paint the Town Pink 2012 runs from May 4-12. For more information about Paint the Town Pink visit the new website at http://www.PainttheTownPink.com and be sure to follow Paint the Town Pink on Facebook to see highlights of this year's campaign and for a complete list of events and activities.
