Ford's Drive 4 UR Community Event to Raise Money For Helping Hands Food Pantry

Online, May 22, 2013 (Newswire.com) - As part of Ford's Drive 4 UR Community Program, Terry's Ford of Peotone will be raising money for the Helping Hands Food Pantry. The fundraising event will take place on June 10th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Immanuel United Church of Christ, located at 311 West Corning Avenue in Peotone. Participants with a valid driver's license may come test drive any Ford vehicle during this time, and Terry's Ford will donate $20 to Helping Hands Food Pantry for each test-drive.

Similar to Ford's successful Drive 4 UR School Program, which has raised over $12 million for local schools and educational organizations since it began in 2007, Drive 4 UR Community is Ford's movement to invest in local nonprofit community organizations. A local Ford dealer organizes each Ford Drive 4 UR Community event in collaboration with a local non-profit organization. The dealer then works with the non-profit to publicize the event and provides the vehicles that are test-driven during the event. Donations by Ford dealers to a non-profit may reach up to $6,000.

The Drive 4 UR Community in Peotone on June 10th is an opportunity to give to the community by helping raise funds for Helping Hands Food Pantry. Located in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church at 200 West Crawford in Peotone, Helping Hands provides meals to individuals living in the Peotone School District on the first and third Wednesdays of every month.

In addition to helping feed individuals and families in need, the Drive 4 UR Community event is also an opportunity for Ford to show their new vehicles to local drivers. One individual per family may drive a Ford vehicle of their choice, giving people in the Peotone area the chance to get behind the wheel of one of the new models in the 2013 Ford lineup from Terry's Ford.
