Fort Smith Dentist Pursues Continued Education With a Passion

Fort Smith, AR, June 27, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Charles Liggett, of River Valley Smile Center, a leading dental practice in Fort Smith, Ark., completed two continued education dental courses from June 13 through June 17 at the Kois Center in Seattle. 

The courses, entitled “Biomechanics I” and “Biomechanics II,” included lectures, participation, demonstrations, case presentations and discussions. Topics of study ranged from the advantages of veneers versus full coverage restorations, when to use cohesively retained restorations and adhesively retained restorations, predictable impressioning, how to create provisional restorations to the need for and the limitations of foundational restorations.

Dr. Liggett completed 55 credit units at the Kois Center and expanded his knowledge on impressioning, restorations, veneers, preparation and risk assessments for restorations and more.

Dr. Liggett has far exceeded state board expectations, completing more than 100 credit hours of continued education in the past month. The Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners requires Arkansas licensed dentists to fulfill 50 credit units every two years.

Dr. Liggett pursues continued education in order to guarantee patients receive current, excellent care. Dr. Liggett has been community-oriented throughout his professional career: conducting nearly a dozen dental mission trips, founding the Weekend Dental Clinic and Free Extraction Day (which provides those in need with free or affordable dental care), organizing discussions for the local dental community to better recognize/prevent child abuse and more.
