Four Gardere Attorneys Selected Among 'Best Women Lawyers' In Dallas

Online, April 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - DALLAS - Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is proud to announce that four of the firm's attorneys have earned selection to D Magazine's "Best Women Lawyers in Dallas." The list of the city's 126 most accomplished women attorneys is included in the May 2010 edition of D Magazine.

The Gardere attorneys who made the list are:

Deirdre Ruckman leads Gardere's bankruptcy and business reorganization group, and is a prior member of the firm's compensation and management committees. She has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services sector, and specializes in representation of both debtors and creditors in business reorganizations involving private and/or public debt.

Holland O'Neil is a partner in Gardere's bankruptcy and business reorganization group and has more than 20 years' experience representing clients in all aspects of turnarounds and restructurings. She likewise represents clients in the energy sector. She has served on the firm's Management Committee for the past four years and is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy and business issues.

Beverly Godbey's trial practice over the past 28 years has emphasized commercial litigation, including insurance coverage, bad faith, ERISA, deceptive trade practices, non-subscriber and products liability. She also performs insurance coverage reviews, comparisons and negotiations for a wide variety of corporate clients. A past president of the Dallas Bar Association, Ms. Godbey currently serves on the Texas Equal Access to Justice Commission and the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors.

Lisa Christensen's tax practice includes a broad range of employee benefit matters, including tax-qualified plans, non-qualified deferred compensation programs, and health and welfare arrangements. She serves on the firm's Professional Development Committee, and is a member of the firm's HIPAA Team and Women's Council.

To compile the list, D Magazine sought recommendations from other attorneys based on their personal experience with the lawyer they were nominating. Attorneys were only allowed to cast votes for attorneys in their practice area. Finally, each voter could nominate only one attorney from within their own firm and two outside their firm.
