Fourth Annual "Brain Spa" Conference Comes to the Historic Buckhead Theater

TEDxPeachtree 2012 to Spread its Creative Wings in Landmark Venue

The TEDxPeachtree organizing committee is pleased to announce that TEDxPeachtree 2012 will be held on Friday, November 2nd at the luxuriously restored Buckhead Theatre, a historic live music venue in the heart of Buckhead.

Since 1930, the Buckhead Theatre has played host to a variety of legendary jazz, rock and hip-hop bands as well as movie premieres. A multi-million facelift completed in 2008 has not only given the venue a new verve, it also saw the addition of state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.

"The Buckhead Theatre is a uniquely appointed event space with a wonderful history," said Jacqui Chew, local business owner and TEDxPeachtree co-organizer. "We look forward to weaving its design elements into the visual interpretation of the 2012 theme 'Transcend,''" she added.

Talks this year will revolve around the timeless human need to "Transcend" conventional wisdom and push forward ideas, innovations and inventions that make a difference. Speaker nominations are currently being accepted at http://tedxpeachtree.com/contact/speaker-nomination/ through May.

And due to the overwhelming demand for seats in previous years, the TEDxPeachtree team has increased attendee capacity to 400 from 250. To be notified when the attendee application period begins, sign up at www.tedxpeachtree.com .

TEDxPeachtree is a community resource and there is no charge for attendees. Instead, it is made possible by the all-volunteer team and sponsors who share TEDx values such as diversity of thought, love for innovation, sustainability and of course, spreading ideas worth sharing. For more information on how to become a sponsor, please visit http://tedxpeachtree.com/sponsors/ .

About TED
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 26 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. At TED, the world's leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Benoit Mandelbrot, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Two major TED events are held each year: The TED Conference takes place every spring in Long Beach, California (along with a parallel conference, TEDActive, in Palm Springs), and TEDGlobal is held each summer in Edinburgh, Scotland.
