FPEA Gains PRO5 Award
Online, September 13, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Pro 5 consortium led by the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation appointed the FP Executive Agency after a comprehensive and exhaustive tender process.
The award of this agreement, which will commence on the 26th of August 2011 for a period of three years, will provide the platform for the FP Executive Agency to become one of the leading suppliers of mailing room equipment and services to the public sector.

The Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO) is the lead organisation within the Pro 5 consortia. The Pro 5 consortia is made up of a number of local authority purchasing organisations - Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO), North Easy Purchasing Organisation (NEPO), Central Buying Consortia (CBC), West Mercia Supplies (WMS)and the YPO. Together they have a combined purchasing power of in excess of £2 billion per annum.
The Pro 5 consortia working with the Office of Government Commerce (OGC), DfE and other contracting bodies wanted providers to be appointed onto a Pan-Government framework agreement for the supply of mail room equipment and associated services. Products included are franking Machines, electronic postal scales, letter openers, folder inserters, addressing systems, consumables, documents management systems (including software) and all other related equipment. Associated services to be incorporated include installation, configuration, disposal, maintenance/support services, training, consumables and any other related service provision as required.
The framework agreement will cover the period from 26th August 2011 to 31st July 2013 with two options to extend for an additional twelve months subject to the satisfactory supply of the contract.
The agreement will be open to any Pro 5 member as well as to the entire public sector. It is expected that central government departments, local authorities, educational establishments, Police, Fire and Rescue Service, NHS Bodies and registered charities within the UK will utilise the framework agreement. Other organisations who are provided funding by central or local government may also utilise the framework agreement subject to approval from one of the Pro 5 members.
