Fraudlogix Adds Reason Codes to IP Blacklist Solution

Real-time data updates hourly for pre-bid ad fraud protection

Fraudlogix, which launched its IP Block List less than a year ago, has added reason codes to the IP blacklist feeds for a more in-depth pre-bid ad fraud solution. The premise of the fraud solution is to give ad tech companies comprehensive threat intelligence regarding IP addresses that are generating fake traffic, allowing clients to create block lists (i.e., blacklists) within their environments to block ad fraud at the pre-bid level.

To increase transparency, reason codes have been added to the feeds, giving insight into why each IP address was added. With the reason codes, clients can see if an IP address has been associated with bot traffic, non-human scripts, spoofed browsers or user agents, data center traffic, or traffic from malicious or compromised devices. There are six reason codes in total.

Ad fraud is a moving target, so we want to arm our clients with real-time threat intelligence that updates on its own. Clients don't have to ping us every time they need a decision on the quality of a bid—we're giving them that intelligence so they can make the decisions on their side and apply it to all of their traffic.

Hagai Shechter, Fraudlogix CEO

“Ad fraud can seem like a black box sometimes,” said Fraudlogix CEO Hagai Shechter, “and that’s frustrating. When evaluating traffic quality, and blocking potentially valuable impressions, it’s vital to have a bit of reasoning behind your blacklist decisions.”

Fraudlogix blocklist feeds update hourly and are designed to protect users against fraudulent traffic from bots, malware, data centers, and click farms. There are over 4 million unique IPs at any given time. The data is derived from live intelligence within the programmatic space.

The feeds can be used as a pre-bid ad fraud solution on an unlimited amount of traffic for ad networks, supply-side platforms (SSPs), exchanges, demand-side platforms (DSPs), trade desks and advertisers. They can be used in multiple environments, including desktop, mobile, display, in-app and video. Subscribers can access the feeds via an API so their blacklists update automatically on an hourly basis.

“Ad fraud is a moving target, so we want to arm our clients with real-time threat intelligence that updates on its own. Clients don’t have to ping us every time they need a decision on the quality of a bid—we’re giving them that intelligence so they can make the decisions on their side and apply it to all of their traffic,” said Shechter.
