Free All-Age Concert With Donations To Benefit School Music Programs
Little Buffalo State Park (Saturday, September 25, 2010) - The Jim Sufrin Benefit Concert is calling on community members and music lovers to help "Save the Music" in public schools by coming out and showing your support for local musicians.
Online, September 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - On Saturday September 25, there will be an absolutely FREE outdoor concert held at Little Buffalo State Park's main performance stage. This concert begins at 1:00pm and ends at 6:00pm. All donations (strongly encouraged) will benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation and The FATT Saturday Fund equally in their missions of providing instrumental music education programs to public schools. ABOUT THE JIM SUFRIN BENEFIT CONCERT
Jim Sufrin was an active singer/songwriter and producer who was quite influential on the local music scene and this concert being held in his honor is focused on showcasing local talent with donations helping these two great music education charities.
VH1 Save the Music Foundation
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education programs in America's public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education. The FATT Saturday Fund provides a source of funding for the PCCA (Perry County Council on the Arts, a 501c3 non-profit) and Music in the Schools (both of which have been cut severely in recent federal and state budgets) through the Pennsylvania State Arts Council, Artists in Residency Program. This is a roster of various types of musical artists providing many types of musical education.
