Free Credit Report Opens New Online Service

Online, May 14, 2011 (Newswire.com) - It was announced this week that the Free Credit Report Online company had started its online service with the opening of its new website.

It is understood that the new free credit report service, which is a new service built from the ground up, builds on the facilities offered by more well-known services but also incorporates a very robust Identity Theft assistance service.

The Free Credit Report Client Services Director Jane Pearson elaborated on this. "We conducted research at length both among our existing customers and among the general public who were not already our customers, and the results showed that people these days are overwhelmingly concerned about aspects of cybercrime like identity theft and the ability of cyber criminals to hack into banks accounts and steal peoples' identities and ultimately their money.

"We found that, even though people didn't know exactly how this occurred, nevertheless it was widely believed that ID theft and large scale theft of assets by clandestine digital means were the two chief fears among the general public. Better known companies such as Experian and Equifax have been providing 24 access to credit reports for years, and also offering free credit report services to attract new customers. This new service is an attempt to build on that good work and to extend this into the realm of online security as well.

"We aim to provide the same level of online access that people have always enjoyed", said Pearson. "People want to be able to get hold of their own credit files 24 hours a day, 365 days a week", she said, "but they just don't want everyone else to be able to do that as well!

The new service will allow anyone in the U.K. over 18 years of age to access their own credit files whenever they like. As a means of attracting new customers there is a special 10 free trial offer which will enable people to sign up for a full-scale trial service, including a free credit report and access to the new online security measures, entirely for free, so they have plenty of time to decide if the service is one that will be useful to them all of the time.
