Friendio Social Networking Site Launches, Exits Beta

Friendio includes a platform that shows a user location on a map and can import friends from other networks allowing users to keep up with their friend connections while making new ones. Once connected people can see updates from these other networks and know what's new with their friends and those they follow, all in a single feed. In addition, users can message selected friends of certain networks from within the Friendio network. The site has made it possible to post a status update on a profile that automatically shares (if enabled) to other connected networks, so friends and contacts are updated everywhere.

are built in to the entire network. Users can create pages about their business, band or cause as well as mark on a map different places and destinations with photos and video. Visitors can become fans and leave comments. Students, alumni and educational institutions can create school networks and invite other current or former classmates to join their network.

are features available to users at their option. People can post events to a calendar, invite friends & contacts to the event, and receive RSVP notices from those who wish to attend.
