FTR Introduces High-Definition Recording to Courts
FTR Gold 5.7 meets the increasing demand for high-quality recordings
Minneapolis, MN, September 23, 2015 (Newswire.com) - For The Record (FTR), the global leader in digital court recording technology, today announced the latest iteration of its core recording engine, FTR Gold 5.7, at the biannual Court Technology Conference.
“FTR Gold 5.7 meets the increasing demand for high-quality recordings in courts,” said Hamish Wyatt, FTR’s VP of Product and Marketing Strategy “Courts can now produce HD audio and video recordings at up to 1080p while maintaining mission-critical stability.”
At this point, we don't believe HD video is for every court or hearing room. However, for those courts who have high-profile cases or stream content to their stakeholders, it offers an affordable, manageable and scalable option in delivering a better digital court record experience.
Tony Douglass, President
The audio codec, a key ingredient in FTR’s highly portable and robust audio recording solution, has been updated to use the latest in high-quality, low file size technologies from global multimedia research and development institution Fraunhofer IIS.
HD video is delivered to the FTR Gold recording software via the H.264 video coding format, a standard in modern recording, compression and distribution.
“At this point, we don’t believe HD video is for every court or hearing room. However, for those courts who have high-profile cases or stream content to their stakeholders, it offers an affordable, manageable and scalable option in delivering a better digital court record experience,” said Tony Douglass, FTR’s President.
This release of FTR Gold supports up to four HD video streams and encoding/decoding over IP in line with the ONVIF standard. Support for other HD interfaces will be available in the first half of 2016.
FTR Gold 5.7 is supported on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 operating systems, with Windows 10 support scheduled for early in the new year along with FTR’s Court.fm, Reporter Server, Monitor and Warehouse products.
The release is available for purchase immediately, and users can register for a 14-day trial at www.fortherecord.com today.
