Fuel-Saving Innovations Will Bring Big Savings to Albuquerque Ford Customers
Online, April 16, 2012 (Newswire.com) - In recent years, fuel prices have skyrocketed and consequently so has the demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles. And while automakers are certainly making progress, having introduced and implemented numerous fuel-saving innovations in nearly every vehicle category, the price tags for these new technologies put them out of reach for a large number of consumers. That being said, Don Chalmers Ford of Albuquerque is pleased to share that the 2013 Ford Fusion will feature the affordable, fuel-saving Auto Start-Stop System.
As the first non-hybrid, midsize sedan to offer Auto Start-Stop, the 2013 Ford Fusion will offer drivers an inexpensive option for reducing their annual fuel spend. Priced at just $295, Auto Start-Stop can save drivers approximately $1,100 over a five-year driving period. That may not sound like much, but considering the cost of the initial investment, that is an impressive return.
The concept behind Auto Star-Stop is simple. When a vehicle idles, the engine continues to consume fuel even though the vehicle is not in motion. The Auto Start-Stop System will shut off the Fusion's engine when the vehicle comes to a stop, thus eliminating unnecessary fuel consumption, as well as unnecessary exhaust emissions. The engine will then re-start as soon as the brake is released.
Making its debut this fall, the all-new Ford Fusion is another example of Ford's commitment to make fuel-economy affordable.
