Acting on its commitment to sustainable development and the communities in which it operates, MillerCoors donated 65 gently-used PC tablets, worth more than $500 each, to non-profit organization, Project C.U.R.E. in nearby Golden, Colorado.
"MillerCoors is built on the strong belief that giving back to our communities is integral to the well-being of our company," said Karen Alber, chief information officer, MillerCoors. "By donating the gently-used PC tablets we're able to assist these organizations in fulfilling their missions and meet our own sustainability goals."
Rather than dispose of the old devices, which were used by MillerCoors sales teams, the PC tablets will be given to the non-profit organizations, which reduces e-waste and allows the organizations to function more efficiently. For example, the portability of the tablets makes them ideal to manage event registration as well as capture and track donations directly on-screen. They also will allow for easy training for volunteers and staff on the go.
"We're very grateful to MillerCoors for the tablet donations. The addition of this technology helps simplify our approach to capturing critical information during in-country clinic missions and needs assessments," said Jamie Wagner, Director of Project Development at Project C.U.R.E.
Project C.U.R.E., located in Centennial, CO, builds sustainable healthcare infrastructure by providing medical supplies and equipment that medical personnel need to deliver healthcare to communities around the world. Project C.U.R.E. has delivered medical relief to needy people in more than 120 countries since it was founded in 1987. MillerCoors relationship with Project C.U.R.E. is long-standing and in the last four years, MillerCoors employees have contributed hundreds of volunteer hours at its sorting and distributing center.
